Coro Health was born from a series of profound
events that deeply impacted its founders.

These included the soothing effect of music on a prematurely born
baby, the remarkable response of a special needs child to Music
Therapy, and a hospice nurse integrating personalized music into care
plans, reducing pain, agitation, and depression.

These experiences led to the creation of MusicFirst, a platform that leverages the science of music interventions to provide individualized therapeutic music programs across healthcare settings.

Soon after, caregivers expressed a need for meaningful spiritual support, leading to the development of FaithFirst. This service offers a diverse range of multi-faith content tailored to the spiritual needs of individuals in healthcare settings.

Today, Coro Health is the largest specialized music and spiritual support streaming service in healthcare, offering fully licensed therapeutic music and the most extensive library of spiritual content designed specifically for healthcare.

Reaching more than 6,000 long-term care communities and hundreds of hospitals in the U.S

David Schofman

Co-founder and CEO of Coro Health

David is an entrepreneur at heart, having founded and co-founded seven different companies across a wide range of disciplines. His passion for music spans decades, as does his ongoing dedication to the guitar. His desire to start Coro Health was inspired by witnessing the power of music on a friend’s premature baby, followed by a music therapy intervention for his own daughter with special needs.

Together with a group of like-minded entrepreneurs, technologists, neuroscientists, music therapists, music designers, and theologians, Coro Health was created. The goal was to bring the scientifically proven benefits of therapeutic music to individuals across diverse healthcare settings. Now, 15 years later, Coro Health has proudly established itself as the leader in therapeutic music and spiritual support content within healthcare, serving over 6,000 long-term care communities and hospitals.

Debi Cost-Finn

Head of Training and Music Licensing for Coro Health

Debi's journey is a symphony of storytelling and science, harmonizing her 20+ year career in the music industry—from her beginnings at DMX (now Mood Media), where she created soundscapes for the smallest of startups to some of the biggest brands across the country, to her current role at Coro Health, where she has been using music as a powerful care tool since 2010. As the head of training and music licensing, she is driven by empathy, strategic thinking, and an unwavering belief that music and spiritual support in healthcare aren’t luxuries—they are necessities.

If you accessed Debi’s therapeutic music programs, you would hear 80s Pop Hits and 90s Country, just to name a few. A fun fact: Debi's first concert was in 9th grade when she went to see New Edition with Bobby Brown. When she’s not working to bring the power of music to care staff, industry leaders, and anyone who asks her what she does for a living, she enjoys life with her husband—a nurse practitioner by day and musician by night. They both share a passion for caregiving and music. And if you join a Zoom training with Debi, you might just catch a glimpse of her two dachshunds, Whiskey and Rye.
